We are back from holidays, schools have opened their doors and we cannot think of anything better for a fresh start to the day than smoothies: colourful, nutritious breakfast smoothies!
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day and it doesn’t have to take long to prepare. Neither is eating healthy as difficult as many people think. Smoothies can provide a wholesome alternative and give you the energy boost you need to start your day. The best bit is that you can pack in a glass at least a few of your five a day and enjoy them in under 10 minutes.
For our smoothies we use fresh fruit, rich Greek yoghurt and a spoonful or two of natural sweeteners. Honey is certainly one of our favourites. You can try our limited edition of Spring Blossom Raw honey or the dark amber colour, Oak Tree Raw honeydew honey.
Creamy Peach and Mango Smoothie with Date Molasses
A taste of summer in a glass: peach and mango make for the ultimate summer smoothie and you can still enjoy the fruit at the end of their season. We added Greek yoghurt and a generous tablespoon of date molasses.
Blueberry & Pomegranate smoothie with pomegranate molasses
This mix is rich in antioxidants and vitamins that will give a great boost to your immune system. We added pomegranate molasses to complement the fruit because we love this slightly tart flavour.
Have you tried Kefir? This nutrient dense milk is most well-known for its probiotic properties. We combined it with a classic forest fruit and loved the flavour.
Banana & carob molasses goodness
It’s no secret that bananas make any smoothie creamier and more flavoursome. We gave them the credit they deserve, blended in a few dates and gave them a chocolatey touch with carob molasses.
Super Green kefir smoothie
Green smoothies are the way to go if you wish to add a few greens in the mix and enjoy refreshing sips. We added some handfuls of spinach, kiwi, banana, a bit of avocado, lime juice and kefir. Feel free to play with different green leaf combination and top it of with a few fresh fruit or coconut flakes and chia seeds like we did for this one.
