Date molasses is a thick syrup made from pressed dates. Also known as date honey, silan or date syrup, it’s a Mediteranean and Middle Eastern culinary speciality which is especially delicious drizzled on cakes and desserts, as well as savoury marinades and aromatic stews.

We’re delighted that the 2020 Great Taste Award judges crowned our date molasses with 3-stars; they praised it as “remarkable and gorgeous” with a superb, lustrous and velveteen texture. Less than 2% of the 12,777 products entered were awarded the coveted 3-stars of excellence this year, which means our date molasses is very special indeed.

Pomegranate molasses: A bright, ruby-red syrup with a balanced sweet and sharp, fruity-tart kick. It’s a staple ingredient in Persian, Levantine and Eastern Mediterranean cuisine that’s made with 100% pomegranate juice. We whisk it into marinades or dressings, brush over meat as a glaze, or drizzle over roast vegetables, fruit or yoghurt. A proud two-star winner in Great Taste Awards 2020, our pomegranate molasses was described by the judges as “flawless” whilst “carrying with it the sweet sharpness of the fruit, and quite some complexity.”

Grape molasses: An ancient Greek sweetener called petimezi, our Organic Grape Molasses is an intense, sweetly aromatic syrup made from concentrated organic grape must from the Messinia region. Try our recipe for Greek Petimezopita cake or use it instead of honey. A multiple Great Taste winner, our Organic Grape Molasses cemented its gold star in the recent 2020 awards for its “delightful winey, quince-fruited aroma (and) gentle viscosity.” Judges said: “We can imagine multiple uses for this from dressings to cocktails via marinades.”

Carob molasses: Imagine chocolate in a bottle, with a little more mystery – and carob molasses is something like that. A sweet, nutty, and dark syrup with chocolatey undertones, carob molasses is made from 100% carob juice, extracted from the pods of the carob tree with no refined sugars or sweeteners. Great Taste judges awarded it a gold star star and we love it in banana smoothies.
