The first of the season apples for the kids
Ingredients
- 50gr local sultanas
- 50gr dried apricots, stone removed and finely diced
- 50gr dried figs, finely diced
- 50gr dried prunes, stone removed and finely diced
- 2 lemons squeezed
- 2 tablespoons Odysea Wild Thyme & Fragrant Herb honey
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- ½ bunch mint, pick the leaves and shred them at the last moment
- 6 to 8 apples
- About 80gr butter
Method
- Preheat the oven at 200 degrees C.
- Mix the dried fruits with the lemon juice, honey, cinnamon and mint in a medium size bowl and put them aside.
- Wash the apples but do not peel them. With a corer clear out the center of the apple, you may need to remove a little more than just the core and place them on heavy based baking sheet.
- Squeeze in the hole the filling and the butter, do not worry if it doesn’t all fit in, since the butter will melt and cover the top of the apple giving it a shine as it bakes.
- Bake for about 15 to 20 minutes; poke gently with a sharp knife to check they are ready, remove and serve them hot or at room temperature.
